There was also James Ward the World War II pilot, who climbed out on the wing of his bomber to put out an engine fire. And then climbed right back in when he was done. Talk about a busy day at work. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Allen_Ward)

That explains Everything in James Ward's post --
except WHY they feel the need to "distribute" [sell] literature and refuse military service and blood transfusions or consider only the use of the name Jehovah vital for proper worship. Or why they reject Trinitarianism, inherent immortality of the soul, and hellfire.

I reject some of those things, too, but don't feel the need to bother other people about it, or make them pay.

Or why they believe their body of beliefs is "the truth" and consider themselves to be "in the truth" and limit their social interaction with non-Witnesses.

According to Wiki, "How Are You Using Your Life?" was published by Our Kingdom Ministry in May 1974. The JWs would probably consider James' idly standing about photographing quiet people holding paper in their hands most unworthy. I think they were shunning James, and rightly so...

What is a wonder is that millions (!) of people apparently "adhere" to this nonsense.

And then there are the Mormons...and their magic underwear.

What is is about humans? Isn't being alive and curious a good life -- making your own fun -- without bringing rules upon rules into it decided by some grey-bearded mean old farts hundreds of years ago?
